How many types of poker game are played around the world

Do you like to play poker? Then surely you will be interested to know how many types of poker game are played around the world. Here are some interesting variations of poker games practiced in various poker communities.

The first type of poker games that I am going to introduce is the “7/27”. This is a counting type game. 4-10 players can play this game at a time. Initial deal is one card down, one card up to each player. The objective in this game is to get close as much as possible to seven or twenty-seven. Cards are valuated as; half for face cards, one or eleven for aces and half for all others.Betting rounds are alternated and rotated until there is a non-taken card round. Non-taken card round is a round where no one takes a card. Anyone can take a card anyway of his actions on the previous round. The game consists of a final betting round, a declaration round for high, low or both and at the end the shutdown round.

Bluffing in this game occurs mostly for the lowest hand. Thus, if any one can stab on it, it often becomes worth while top go low. Incase of rising high, it means to be a while or a few quarters. Anyone can decide to go high later.

Another popular poker variation is the “Liar’s Poker”(a.k.a Lawyer’s Poker). It is also a bluff-type poker game. Player number can be 3 to 10. Here, two quarters are putted in front of each player by themselves. The first player will call a poker hand, and then another player will call a hand which should beat the first hand. When a player calls the hand, everyone’s hand is pooled to find out if any other hand exists. The game finishes when only one quarter is left and the player holding that quarter declared as the winner.

“99”

“99” is the name of a commonly played poker games. Up to 12 players can play this game comfortably. Its initial deal is three cards down to players. Players can join in the game with a certain numbers of chips. These chips are stacked in front of all. The root strategy in this game is “don’t go over 99”.Each player says their total points after each discarding. Points are gained by discarding into the pile and drawing from the stack on the deck. The player who has a stack takes away the whole bunch!

Red & Black

Red & Black is a famous draw counting game. 3 to 88 people can pay this game at a time. 5 cards are given to each player at the beginning. In this game objective is to get the lowest or the highest point in hand. Values of cards are as follows; Face cards are valued 10 points, Aces are worth of 1 point. All the others are worth of face value. Players count total points by adding their remaining cards in hands. Some variations of this game are observed. In Stendahl it is played as Seven Card Stud, in some areas aces are counted as 15 points instead of 1, all numbered cards are considered their pip count rather than its face value.

All these variations are provided to prevent the monotony of playing same game. In actual all the above games are builted on some fundamentals of poker games.
